Members Market Place
A large number of our club members are in local businesses and it is important as club members that we support them.
As of this week we will highlight one member weekly who runs a business in our community.
We are in the process of reintroducing the ‘Members’ Marketplace’ section on our website. This is a place where club members in business can provide special offers\discounts to other club members for the services they offer, meaning everyone wins. The website listing will be free of charge, businesses do have the opportunity to place an advert on our tv screens (either provide us a suitable picture or we can have Sam make something up for you) for the low cost of $50 + GST per month. Reach out to me with any questions or to get this started for you. Kicking us off, and the main instigator in this initiative is Barry Ellis. It’s one thing I think the Club can be most proud of and that is the way we support each other when and where we can.

I Have lived in our community for 72 years and have been in business for 50 years. Firstly, as a driving school director/instructor, then as a contractor with General Foods, from there I studied for my Real Estate papers gaining my AREINZ (Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand), owning my own company as well as working for several other agencies over the, next 30 years.
I have also had over 65 years of association with the Johnsonville Rugby Football Club from schoolboy to senior, both playing and coaching. I also served a term as club president and also as vice president of the Wellington Rugby Union
After retiring from the real estate industry I established my consultancy business, PACT - Property, Advice and Consultancy Together.
This came about after a request from past clients, a farming couple from Ohariu Valley, who wanted me to sell some land for them.
When I advised them that I had retired and no longer held a real estate license they hired me as a consultant to manage the sale.
I approached three agents who I know and trust from different agencies, to quote for their business and after negotiating commissions and marketing fees, I saved my clients in excess of $20,000.
My fee to my clients is $600.00
Since that first contract I have worked with several club members, making significant savings for them.
The agents I have worked with have had a 100% strike rate to date..
My two most recent clients were the late Jack Feeney and Colin and Cheryl Davidson from the Johnsonville Club.
I am happy to offer our club members a 50% discount on my consultancy fees.

I’m Duncan Traill, your local real estate agent with Team YIP at Collective First National. My journey in the professional world started in hotels as a Concierge, transitioned into Adult Education, and finally led me to Real Estate. Along the way, I earned my AREINZ (Associate of the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand) qualification.
As a regular member of the Johnsonville Club, this place isn’t just a club to me; it’s a community hub where I’ve had the pleasure of participating in and supporting numerous events. From the Mad Hatters Tea Party to our recent Darts fundraiser auction night, these gatherings have been great fun to be part of and a whole bundle of laughs.
