The Johnsonville club Poker club champs were played on Sat 17th August, and we had a fantastic turn out of 31 players, all in high spirts and hoping to become the newest club champ

 

Play got under way and it was clear it would be a long day as there were no early causalities and everybody was playing for the long haul.

 

After two hours of play it was time for a break and some food, and the food was something to behold, a table of goodness supplied by Vista Cafe & Bistro was something else.

 

Back to cards and after a few got knocked out and there hopes gone, it got down the final table of eight, Last year's winner Dave was there so Mark Davis also a recent winner and also a new addition the poker group Aaron, Paul J, Suzie, Brent, Sean and Darrin making up the numbers.

 

There wasn't much doubt about the make-up of the final three and Dave and Mark and Aaron went head to head for next couple of hours, These three played the best Poker and deserved the honours, But with all sport there is a winner and Dave Flowerdew came out on top, This is the second year in a row for Dave and he is without doubt the best player in this long haul format, In second place was Aaron and third for Mark.

 

It was a fantastic day played over seven hours in great spirts and thank you very much to everybody that played and made it such a fun day.

 

Congratulations to Dave Flowerdew and all those that came and tried to become more like Dave.
